Summary

Tab Auto Closer helps automatically close inactive browser tabs after a configurable period. This extension does not collect, transmit, or sell personal browsing data.

Permissions used

• tabs — Used locally to read tab metadata (id, windowId, pinned state, status) and to close tabs when they meet the inactivity criteria.
• storage — Used to save user settings (hours, minutes, active/inactive flag) locally so preferences persist across restarts.
• alarms — Used to schedule internal periodic checks (if applicable). No external scheduling services are used.

What we collect

No browsing data, URLs, page content, or personally identifiable information is uploaded or shared. The extension stores only simple settings (hours, minutes, isActive) in the browser's local storage. Runtime tab metadata used to determine inactivity is processed inside the extension only and not transmitted.

Data sharing and third parties

We do not share or sell any data to third parties. There is no analytics or telemetry in this release.

Storage and retention

Settings are stored locally in the browser extension storage and will remain until the user clears them or uninstalls the extension.
